The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago (NGC), a supplier of natural gas to the Petrochemical and Manufacturing sectors in Trinidad and Tobago, contracted Sociedad Anonima De Instalaciones De Control (SAINCO), a company based in Spain, to implement a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. ENMAN was contracted to execute the electrical and instrumentation installation and to provide engineering support services. The SCADA system would provide the centralized, gas control operator with real time, accurate data and allow remote control capabilities for operating the natural gas gathering, transmission and distribution system in a safe, secure, reliable and economic manner. The project activities included inspection and installation of instruments, cable trays, conduit, cables, solar panels, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), process tubing and gas analyzers. In addition, termination of instrument analog and digital wire and power cables were inspected. Various tests, including loops checks, insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, calibration and function tests were performed. The SCADA system would allow monitoring and control of field equipment for a central operator work station. |
